Negro League Baseball 100th Anniversary

Major League Baseball honored the 100th Anniversary of Negro League Baseball. All players and umpires wore the above patch on they jerseys to commemorate the event. The original date to wear the patch was June 27 had to be moved to Aug 16 due to the implications of the COID-19 virus 

The Negro Leagues established in 1920 was the first structured league that lasted for an extended period of time. The logo used was a derivative of the official logo created by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, located in Kansas City, Mo

1938 League Stars pinbacks

Gus Greenlee started his career in baseball, by financially backing the Crawford Giants. He would continue to invest and bring in the best ballplayers available, building the team as the Pittsburgh Crawfords. In 1933 he organized the first East-West Classic, at Comiskey Park, Chicago.

In an effort to generate funds for the financially faltering league, Greenlee organized another All-Star game in 1938 to be played at Yankee Stadium on September 18. The game was rained out and Greenlee. The game was rescheduled for September 15 and moved to the Polo Grounds. These pinback buttons were created to commemorate the event
